On December 17 a presentation of ARMIS market information system took place at Erebouni hall of Erebouni Plaza Hotel. The event was attended by the RA Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Avetisyan, representatives of MCC and MCA-Armenia, agricultural associations, banks, producers and processors, local and international organizations and farmers.

The event was organized to present the international experience in utilizing of MIS system, the demand of such system in Armenia and specifics of its usage. The RA Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Avetisyan, Executive Director of the MCA-Armenia Ara Hovsepyan, Richard Hurelbrink, Water-to-Market Team Leader made welcoming remarks.

The first Armenian market information system ARMIS was presented and described in details by marketing expert Nora Alanakyan. She presents how the program works by means of Internet and SMS-service and spoke about its advantages. According to her, using such market information, the farmers will strengthen their bargaining position while dealing with traders.

The program is also aimed at helping the representatives of industry various sectors, such as processors, wholesalers and retailers, HORECA sector who would like to have an accurate information on the market dynamics and plan their expenditures correctly. The system can provide information on the quality, post-harvest technologies, industry news, etc.
